EU project on supporting technical measures to reduce emissions from existing heavy duty vehicles
Sadler Consultants led a research project for the European
Commission on how the EU can support the greater use of technical
measures, such as after-treatments, fuels, oils and tyres, that can
help reduce the emissions of particulates and NOx from existing heavy duty and captive fleets.
This project involved reviewing technical measures,
providing data for the EU cost effectiveness model and developing
policies to support them. The key policy is developing an EU-wide
certification scheme for retrofits to assist LEZs and road tolling
schemes, but also include EU guidance, informal/semi-formal city
groupings, and changes to the state aid system. This project is now completed, and the final report submitted to the Commission, and is available below: Executive Summary Final report
The pre-workshop discussion paper, paper appendicies are also available, as are the workshop presentations: Technical Talk & Questions Policy Talk & Questions
